Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, our partners at SERCO are temporarily pausing their November programming. We’re grateful for their continued collaboration and look forward to rescheduling their session once operations resume.
In the meantime, our Boots to Business Cards: Navigating Job Fairs & Networking event will move forward as planned on Thursday, November 6, at Discover’s Shine Bright Community Center in Chicago — because when one door closes, our community finds another way to serve.
The first half of the program remains unchanged and will feature our premier industry panelists, who will share insider perspectives on hiring trends, career pathways, and what employers are really looking for when meeting veterans and military spouses.
Following the panel, we’re excited to welcome Scott Raether, Navy veteran, career development consultant, and founder of CareerCultivated, who will lead an engaging workshop on networking and relationship-building. Scott’s session will build on the themes introduced by our panelists and offer participants practical strategies for expanding their professional connections and confidence.
Join us on October 7 at Cantigny VFW Post 367 in Joliet for an evening of connection, camaraderie, and opportunity — proudly sponsored by Old National Bank.
Inspired by the Rogue Heroes of WWII. Powered by today’s veterans and those who’ve got their backs.

Operation SANDTRAP is our first annual golf benefit: a day of camaraderie, competition, and community in support of veteran networking, mentorship, and career development. All proceeds fuel our programming—because when one of us succeeds, we all rise.
