On June 3, 2025, Roll Call Chicagoland hosted a double-header that raised the bar for veteran connection and support.
Part I: Boots to Business Cards — Our First-Ever Career Workshop
Held at Zurich North America’s Schaumburg campus, Roll Call Chicagoland’s first workshop event of the Boots to Business Cards series welcomed 25 job-seeking veterans and 10 mentors, facilitators, and staff for a day of hands-on, high-impact programming.
Led by Rachel Spore, a Department of Labor-certified trainer with a veteran-informed approach, the session covered resume refinement and LinkedIn strategy while industry experts provided 1:1 mentorship. Attendees left with actionable next steps—and new confidence for what’s ahead.

The Zurich facility tour was a crowd favorite—attendees especially loved the golf simulator for Zurich employees.

Part II: Evening Networking with a Mission
Later that evening, we gathered again—this time for our monthly networking event just steps away. With 60+ veterans, recruiters, and supporters in attendance, it was one of our biggest turnouts in Schaumburg to date.
Attendees enjoyed great food (again, courtesy of Zurich NA and WGU), warm introductions, meaningful conversations, and shared purpose. Newcomers found mentors. Long-time members caught up. And many left with new opportunities on the horizon.
